YIN Yoga Series

​There’s a yin side to your body, your energy and your mind. And if you’re not taking care of your yin side, you feel imbalanced: Stressed, edgy, and agitated from too much yang energy.
This 4-week journey begins with the body, helping it to heal, release tension, transform and adjust.  You'll learn the symptoms of energetic and physical imbalance, along with the characteristics of balance.  You will explore the energetic channels that balance your yin and yang sides and how to incorporate meditation into your yoga practice.  
Yin Yoga weaves all three layers of your being – body, energy, and mind creating a sense of stillness, balance and peace.

The following props can be very helpful and beneficial throughout the session. 1-2 blankets, blocks, pillows or bolsters.
Any other item that may bring you comfort and support.

At the beginning of class and during savasana you will receive distance Reiki healing from Tara.

The human body is not only a physical entity but a flowing energy field.
Inviting universal energy into the human energy field, entering the body at a cellular level.
Providing a way for you to connect with your healing ability, restoring balance and harmony to the physical, mental, and emotional self, giving you a feeling of wholeness.  Virtual Reiki works the same as in-person Reiki. It's all energy. And energy follows intent.

The following props can be very helpful and beneficial throughout the session. 1-2 blankets, blocks or a stack of books, strap or belt, pillow(s) small towel or an eye pillow (eye pillows are on sale at NF ;) right now.
Any other item that may bring you comfort and support.

​Come celebrate the Spring Equinox with Loni and Christine and get ready to bloom! We’ll shake off some of the winter sluggishness with movement, clear out space for new things to emerge with a lovely guided meditation and take a moment to note some inspirations with journaling. The evening begins with some soothing tea options and gathering time, followed by a lovely flow designed to make you feel grounded and revitalized. Marking the equinox as a moment of equal day and night, we’ll refresh with warm towels infused with essential oils, build a little heat to celebrate the season of light and growth with a few sun salutations and end our practice with a guided meditation designed for deep relaxation. The workshop will end with an opportunity to journal new ideas and inspirations while enjoying a delicious lemon bar and tea.

In this workshop you will:
  • Reveal simple and modern strategies to establish or deepen your home meditation practice
  • Learn the basics about the ancient practice of meditation, including commonly believed myths
  • Discover the naturally fluctuating cycles of the mind and the impact on your thoughts and emotions
  • Experiment with a variety of meditation approaches to uncover your personal meditation style and hints to incorporate meditation into your busy life
  • Learn about the powerful shifts you can make toward peace and happiness by establishing a regular meditation practice
  • Experiment with breathing practices that support and enhance the calming of the mind

Join Loni and Christine to celebrate the spring equinox — the first official day of spring — in a gentle yet transformative yin yoga and meditation practice. The spring equinox is a time to clear out what isn’t serving you in your life, making room for what does. It's the perfect time for to de-clutter with a “spring cleaning” of stagnant energy that has been stored over the long, dark and cold winter months. 
This yin yoga practice will help to restore the healthy flow of qi energy through the liver and gall bladder meridians — the Traditional Chinese Medicine meridians connected to spring — to support the body’s metabolism and its natural ability to eliminate unwanted toxins and waste products.
The session includes soft candle light, floor-based postures held for time, deep relaxation, restorative breathing and a rejuvenating guided meditation. We will start with a detoxing beverage and end with an delicious and healthy treat. We will even send you home with a little reminder of your evening, to help your transition to spring.

Over the weekend, Christine and Loni will lead you through yoga and meditation sessions designed to leave you rejuvenated, inspired and realigned.  On Saturday, we’ll gather together for  yoga, enjoy a delicious dinner inspired by the local waters and farms around Narragansett Bay and then cozy-up by the fire pits for some seasonal drinks and s’mores and maybe a moonlit meditation.

Join Loni to celebrate the spring equinox — the first official day of spring — in a gentle yet transformative yin yoga and meditation practice. The spring equinox is a time to clear out what isn’t serving you in your life, making room for what does. It's the perfect time for to de-clutter with a “spring cleaning” of stagnant energy that has been stored over the long, dark and cold winter months. 

This yin yoga practice will help to restore the healthy flow of qi energy through the liver and gall bladder meridians — the Traditional Chinese Medicine meridians connected to spring — to support the body’s metabolism and its natural ability to eliminate unwanted toxins and waste products.

The session includes soft candle light, floor-based postures held for time, deep relaxation, restorative breathing and a rejuvenating guided meditation.

Workshop: Yoga for Healthy Neck and Shoulders

Would you like to enjoy greater health, well-being and ease in your neck and shoulders? You are not alone!  According to the National Health Interview Survey, the percentage of people with persistent neck and shoulder pain has more than doubled in the last 20 years.

​Using a variety of yoga poses and techniques, we will work to release tension, to create space and mobility, as well as stabilizing and strengthening the shoulder joint and the neck. We will explore the anatomy of this complex area of the body and you will go home with tools to help you maintain health and well-being in your neck and shoulders.

Whether you experience regular tension in your necks and shoulders, or you would just like to increase the range of movement and health of your neck and shoulders, this workshop is a great opportunity to learn how to move your shoulders in a way that increases their strength and integrity, as well as release tension around this important joint.
